Project – Travel writing/Research/Reviewing

This exchange project is similar to our Berlin project, although the location is obviously in Edinburgh. Group members create a travel guide aimed at young people visiting Edinburgh. Participants attend interactive workshops located in the city centre of Edinburgh and research and review this enchanting lovable city. They explore the best bits of the city from Arthur's Seat; the 251 metre high rocky peak which is southeast of the city centre to the bustling old and new town which features extraordinary monumental Georgian and Victorian building masterpieces.

Walking around Edinburgh, you're are indeed never much more than a short walk away from a culturally significant site. Stunning examples of Georgian and medieval architecture round every corner, while a bevy of museums and art galleries can be found dotted throughout the cobbled quarters of the New Town.

Edinburgh is definitely a city famous for its imagination and creative energy, an impulse originating in its ancient legendry and extending to the proud ethos of its modern-day cultural institutions. Organisations such as National Museums Scotland look after its most important museums and galleries, while a full calendar of annual events and festivals earns Edinburgh its reputation as Scotland’s premier festival city.

Our Edinburgh-based projects are geared at anyone with a passion for travel writing and a desire to explore the city from the inside out. project members dip into Edinburgh’s fascinating history, culture and landscape, while creating a travel guide aimed at young people.

Past travel researchers have taken part in many activities, company visits and excursions. They conduct their practical travel research through visits to historical sites, company tours/question and answer sessions along with short excursions accompanied by workshop meetings.
